Dharamshala: The Department of Health, CTA organised an anti-rabies vaccination campaign on 28 September 2023 to mark the World Rabies Day in Tibetan Settlements.
Due to increase in the number of stray dogs across Tibetan settlements leading to animal-related problems like dog bites, the health department focused was on vaccinating the strays as they remain neglected and untreated. The aim of this initiative was to prevent and control the spread of rabies, a fatal disease that can be transmitted to humans in the community.
The department is also grateful for the joint efforts of the local veterinary staff, settlement office, Tibetan primary health care staff, and volunteers in making the campaign a success. The vaccination drive was held in 17 …
