Disaster management authority the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), on Sunday, March 2, warned parts of Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), flagging a “medium-danger-level” avalanche likely above 2,500 metres in the next 24 hours, according to the news portal India Today.
This alert comes after the devastating avalanche in Uttarakhand's Chamoli region, a natural disaster which claimed the lives of eight workers who were at a Border Roads Organisation (BRO) camp.
