Carlsberg unloads Tibet venture to Chinese partner after struggle
Following write-offs, lawsuits, Danish brewer agrees to sell 50% stake.
Tokyo -- Carlsberg has agreed to divest from a brewing joint venture in Tibet after two decades, following years of confrontations and complications with its Chinese partner.
Tibetan Development, Carlsberg's longtime local partner, said late Thursday that its board has resolved to purchase the Danish drinks maker's 50% stake in Tibet Lhasa Brewery for 292 million yuan($42 million) in cash.
