Celebrating Compassion in Chile on the 90th Birthday of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

Chile: On 7 August 2025, the Office of Tibet, Latin America successfully organised the 90th birthday celebration of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama in Arica, Chile which is a coastal city in northern Chile nestled between the Pacific Ocean and the Atacama Desert. The joyful event was graced with the presence of Kalon (Minister) Norzin Dolma of the Department of Information and International Relations (DIIR) of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), Deputy Vlado Mirosevic of Chile, former Mayor Gerardo Espíndola, Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the CTA to Latin America Jigme Tsering, the Director of La Casa del Tumbe based in Arica, and members of civil society in Arica. This marks the 12th celebration in Latin America, honouring a life dedicated to compassion, nonviolence, and service to humanity.
