Dharamshala: The Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) has strongly condemned social media accounts that have been actively disseminating misinformation using the official letterhead of the Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

A fake account operating under the name Kallistos Rhys circulated a forged document bearing the official letterhead of the Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama through a Facebook group page namely Free TIBET Movement, causing widespread deception, misinformation, and concern among the general public.

During the preliminary inquiry into the account’s activity by the Department of Security, Central Tibetan Administration, found that the user had joined the group on January 17, 2026, and shared a fake news regarding the Tibetan elections (The only time the page was active). The content was traced to an article published on a Chinese-language website namely westca.com based in Vancouver, Canada.
