Three dams have been emptied, and a fourth is being drained. ● One dam in Dingri saw walls tilt, prompting evacuations of nearby villages. ● Experts warn China’s hydropower projects in the ecologically sensitive Himalayas, including a massive planned dam on the Brahmaputra, pose grave risks to downstream regions like India and Bangladesh. ● China has significantly increased its dam construction efforts in Tibet, with the number of existing or planned dams rising from 114 to 193 says a study by the International Campaign for Tibet.
