Tashi Delek to everyone on this auspicious occasion of the birthday of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. The celebration in Dharamshala was truly grand — a day filled with smiles, colorful attire, and heartfelt devotion. I believe there’s no need for me to explain the greatness of His Holiness. He has dedicated his entire life to the cause of Tibet, to the promotion of peace, compassion, and understanding across the globe. Moreover, his care and compassion extend from the smallest insects to the entire environment. Even more, he has tirelessly worked to bring joy and peace to every corner of the world. He has devoted his entire life to bringing peace to this world. Whether it's scholars, religious leaders, or world figures — all respect and admire him for his noble deeds. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989 and the U.S. Congressional Gold Medal in 2007, recognizing his lifelong commitment to nonviolence and universal responsibility. On this day, people were dressed in their finest clothes, walking with joy and bright smiles. In the temples, devotees stood with folded hands, perhaps praying that His Holiness may live for eons. If you were ever given the chance to offer a gift to His Holiness, what would it be? As for me, I truly believe there's nothing we can offer that could match what he has given to the world. But the greatest gift we can offer… is to live by his teachings. Especially if we practice even the small things from his Four Commitments — that would be the most meaningful tribute we can give. I’m sure many of you already know the Four Commitments of His Holiness, but for those who don’t, I’d be happy to share a brief explanation in the comments or a future video. Today, the 6th of July has passed, but the celebration continues throughout the year — because we’re honoring this entire year as the birth year of His Holiness. To everyone watching this video: If we can practice even small actions inspired by His Holiness’s Four Commitments, we’ll be contributing to a kinder, more compassionate world.
