
Kalon (Minister) Norzin Dolma of the Department of Information and International Relations (DIIR) Arrives in Chile for His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama’s 90th Birthday Anniversary Tour.
Santiago, Chile: Kalon Norzin Dolma, Minister of the Department of Information and International Relations of the Central Tibetan Administration, arrived in Santiago, Chile, on 6 August 2025, to begin her maiden official visit as part of the Latin American tour marking the 90th birth anniversary of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.
Kalon is accompanied by Jigme Tsering, Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama for Latin America, and a delegation of three monks from Drepung Loseling Monastery in India, led by Geshe Tenzin Sangay.
Over the four-day tour in Chile, Kalon Norzin Dolma visited Valparaíso, the legislative capital of Chile, where she was received by the Chilean Parliamentary Friends of Tibet, led by Deputy Vlado Mirosevic Verdugo. A prominent parliamentarian and political scientist from the Arica and Parinacota Region, Deputy Mirosevic has been a consistent advocate for the Tibetan cause in Chile. He has played a key role in organising the Chilean celebrations of His Holiness’ 90th birthday and in strengthening ties between Chilean civil society and the Tibetan movement.
