Kalon Norzin Dolma Joins Massachusetts in Honouring His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama’s Birthday, Declaring the Year of Compassion

Washington DC: On 6 July 2025, the Massachusetts State House celebrated the ‘Year of Compassion’ in honour of 90th Birthday, hosting a public tribute to the His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. This event commemorated his birthday and proclaimed 2025 as the “Year of Compassion.” The event was jointly organised by the Boston Tibetan Community Association and the Massachusetts Local Tibetan Community Association, with active support from Senate President Jo Comerford, Senator Lydia Edwards, and Representative Mindy Domb.

The celebration came in the wake of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s recent announcement affirming the continuation of the institution of the Dalai Lama through successive reincarnations, a development welcomed by Tibetans and supporters worldwide.

In attendance were American legislators, Tibetan leaders, and state officials, the ceremony featured a series of official proclamations and heartfelt speeches.
