Lhamo Tashi
Lhamo Tashi, a Tibetan refugee who came into exile at the age of six, reflects on the importance of unity within our community. He emphasizes that while diverse ideologies and beliefs are a natural part of any democracy, a broader perspective reveals that what unites us far outweighs what divides us.
Historically, Tibetans were not occupied based on regional distinctions; rather, we were subjugated as one people. In exile, we continue to exist as a single nation, not as separate regions. This shared identity is further reflected in our collective actions—when we march, our voices rise together in calls to “Save Tibet” and “Free Tibet,” without reference to Dhotoe, Dhoemay, or Utsang.
