Drawing on decades of experience and research, Dr. Gyal Lo will examine how China’s Ethnic Unity Law is reshaping life in Tibet, including the expansion of colonial boarding schools and their growing impact on Tibetan children, families, language, and identity.
He will also discuss how the law weakens the role of Buddhism while attempting to legitimize CCP claims over Buddhist traditions, including the reincarnation of senior religious leaders – claims firmly rejected by His Holiness the Dalai Lama and other Tibetan Buddhist leaders.
