Sikyong Concludes Final Engagement in Dharamshala with Addresses to Sarah College and Tibetan Community Members

Dharamshala: On the final morning of his official visit program in Dharamshala on 29 August 2025, Sikyong Penpa Tsering addressed students and faculty at Sarah College for Higher Tibetan Studies, where he was warmly received by Director Samten Gyatso of the Institute of Buddhist Dialectics (IBD) and Sarah College, along with students and staff.

At the beginning of his address, Sikyong spoke about his recent visit to the northern region, including Varanasi and other institutional centres, local Tibetans and academic communities. He reflected on the importance of such visits in strengthening the bond between the Central Tibetan Administration and the wider Tibetan community in exile.

Addressing the students, he emphasised the importance of understanding Tibet’s historical independence and encouraged them to consult reliable sources and books on Tibet before China’s occupation. He further advised the students to remain informed about both the political situation of Tibet and the welfare of the Tibetan community in exile.
