Washington D.C.: On 30 October 2025, Sikyong Penpa Tsering met with Martin Thümmel, Deputy Head of Mission at the German Embassy in Washington, D.C. Having previously met with Sikyong during Sikyong’s official visits to Germany, Thümmel showed a nuanced understanding of the situation of Tibetans both inside Tibet and in exile.

Subsequently, Sikyong met with Senator Dan Sullivan, Chair of the Congressional-Executive Commission on China (CECC), at the Senator’s office.
