Studio Nyandak Dharamsala, an architecture and engineering company based in New York City in collaboration with the Library of Tibetan Works and Archives held a two-day conference on “Architectural Heritage and Dharamsala Earthquake Resilience.” The conference brought together architects, engineers, and experts to discuss the urgent need to preserve traditional Tibetan architecture while addressing Dharamshala’s high vulnerability to seismic activity. Along with the for-profit work Studio Nyandak does in NYC, they have a satellite office here in Dharamsala, near Nechung Monastery, that focuses on pro bono work for the Tibetan government in exile, Tibetan Children's Village Schools, monasteries, and other charitable organizations. They also conduct research on the religious and vernacular architecture of Tibet and the Western Himalayas. Reporter/Producer: Tenzin Nyidon Camera/Editing: Tsering Dhundup
