USAID has worked closely with the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) to help Tibetan communities preserve their language, culture, and religious practices. However, an executive order from the Trump Administration has triggered a funding freeze, disrupting global humanitarian efforts. This situation is particularly alarming for the CTA and the Tibetan exile community, which now faces significant uncertainty with layoffs and a 90-day suspension of aid for some of its programs. Concerns are escalating regarding the impact on education, healthcare, and cultural preservation programs which depend on U.S. support.
