Launched today to coincide with World Art Day, the Tibetan Arts Council (TAC) will serve as a professional network for Tibetan and Tibetan-origin creatives. The initiative aims to support artistic excellence and help artists tell their stories both within the exile community and to wider international audiences. The council, which builds on The Tibet Fund’s Contemporary Arts Program, is led by a steering committee of prominent artists and an international advisory board. Bhuchung D Sonam, chair of the steering committee, described the launch as a new chapter for Tibetan culture. He has called on artists worldwide to join the network to ensure Tibetan creative expression remains a central force for global dialogue and cultural resurgence.
