Two Tibetan monks from Chu Khama Monastery have been held in Chinese custody for over a year, with their current condition and whereabouts remaining unknown. Authorities detained Samten Gyatso and Jamyang Samten without clear official charges. Sources suggest the arrests stem from discovering images of the Tibetan National Flag on their phones and prior alleged offenses, such as displaying a photo of the Dalai Lama online and distributing unauthorized literature. The lack of transparency has left their monastery and families deeply distressed. Both monks had faced repeated, baseless interrogations by local police before their formal arrests.
