Under the Dalai Lama’s Wing: Guardians of the Shelduck is a Compassion Revolution documentary film series made by Tibet TV, Department of Information and International Relations, Central Tibetan Administration. Following the advice and guidance of His Holiness the Great 14th Dalai Lama, a group of villagers in Muth village, Leh, Ladakh, North India, have been making a remarkable contribution in conservation of a species of bird; ruddy shelducks often known as the golden ducks. Contributing to fulfilling the wishes of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in conserving these birds and protecting the environment, the villagers have named their association- Gyalwe Kagong Tsokpa- Association Dedicated to Fulfilling the Wishes of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. His Holiness the Great 14th Dalai Lama has been supporting their work for the last 25 years. Celebrating the Year of Compassion in honor of His Holiness the Great 14th Dalai Lama’s 90th birthday, Tibet TV features the profound impact of His Holiness the great 14th Dalai Lama’s immeasurable contribution to promoting basic human values, fostering religious harmony, preserving Tibetan culture and environment and reviving ancient Indian wisdom through documentary films.
