The team interviewed a wide range of participants—from students and laypeople to monks and nuns—to understand how the event shapes daily life in the region. Rooted in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition of monastic debate, the annual gathering has grown into a vibrant platform for spiritual, intellectual, and cultural exchange. Organisers noted a significant development this year: the participation of Muslim students, highlighting the event’s inclusive and interfaith character. Alongside debates, the symposium also features sessions on yoga, meditation, and dialogue between different faith communities—making it a unique convergence of tradition and contemporary relevance.
