Yeshi Topten is a Tibetan activist and former political prisoner, currently serving as the President of the Gu Chu Sum Movement of Tibet, an organization representing former Tibetan political prisoners.
He is one of the founding members of Gu Chu Sum, which was established in 1991 to support ex-political prisoners and raise awareness about human rights issues in Tibet.
Having personally experienced imprisonment under Chinese authorities, Yeshi Topten has been actively involved in advocacy for Tibetan freedom and the welfare of former prisoners in exile.
In 2025, he was elected (again) as President of Gu Chu Sum during its 10th General Body Meeting held in Dharamshala, India.
